A modest yet functional mudroom

Kitchen and dining room connect to the outdoors
At the front of this existing 1940s home, a cozy North-facing living room was designed with the flexibility for family game nights and privacy for overnight guests. The South facing backyard addition transformed a dark and compartmentalized kitchen / dining room and run down sun porch into a beautiful bright and open concept kitchen / dining room with plenty of storage and 10’ ceilings. A double band of windows allows the space to breathe even more deeply. Finishes and details were selected to complement the existing 80 year old home while balancing the current era.
